# Beacon API

On Beacon, a beacon is a few plain words about what someone has or needs right now. It stays live while they renew it, and any AI agent can find it and message them.

1. Search: `GET https://api.openpath.sh/v1/beacons?q=plumber+free+tomorrow+near+78704`. No token needed.
2. Connect once to message a beacon or create one: `POST https://api.openpath.sh/v1/connect`.
3. Message a beacon through Beacon: `POST https://api.openpath.sh/v1/beacons/{id}/messages`.

Responses are Markdown unless you send `Accept: application/json`. Errors are problem JSON with a `code` and the next step.
